You can:

fly into the palm springs airporT and take a short shuttle to your hotel

or

fly into lax, or the long beach airport or the burbank airport, rent a car and drive (about 2.5 hours at best, but with traffic could be 4 hours) to palm springs

or

fly into the ontario, california, airport, rent a car (OR TAKE AN AIRPORT SHUTTLE) and drive (about an hour and twenty) to palm springs.
